Makhana bowl
A warm, filling breakfast. Sweet, soft and crunchy at the same time.
Ingredients
- 1 cup milk (or thick yoghurt)
- 1 cup plain or lightly salted makhana
- 1 ripe banana, sliced
- 1 tsp honey
- A pinch of cinnamon (optional)
- A few chopped nuts (optional)
Method
- Warm the milk gently in a small pan. Do not let it boil over.
- Lightly crush the makhana, or leave it whole if you like it crunchy.
- Put the makhana in a bowl and pour the warm milk over it.
- Top with banana slices, drizzle with honey and add the cinnamon and nuts.
- Eat warm. For a cold version, use yoghurt instead of milk.
Tip: If you use salted makhana, skip the sweet toppings or pick the lightly salted pack for a savoury bowl.
